Alan started his career in legal aid practice representing clients in the criminal and civil courts on a daily basis, dealing on a range of legal matters. Alan was appointed head of litigation at one of Glasgow’s oldest legal firms before joining multi award winning firm Macdonald Henderson to launch their successful Dispute Resolution and Corporate Recovery team in 2010. Alan has a wealth of experience appearing in the Scottish Courts but blends commerciality and client need to the advice and representation he provides to clients.
Alan has worked extensively in the Insolvency and Restructure sector, acting for Scottish Insolvency Professionals those in distress. Alan was appointed Chair of the influential West of Scotland Insolvency Forum group between 2016 and 2019 and sat on the ICAS Glasgow Area Committee throughout that period.
Alan teaches Civil Litigation, Professional Practice & Ethics at Strathclyde University post graduate Diploma in Legal Practice course and also sits on the Advisory Panel at University of Stirling Law School.
